Fascination for BIODIVERSITY
Environmental Group Exhibition
Helsinki 01.07- 25.08.2016
The "Kalastaja" installation, crafted from intricate metal wire, is a testament to the delicate harmony of nature and the human spirit. Much like biodiversity, a balance of various elements in the universe, this art piece encapsulates the essence of equilibrium.
The installation portrays a fisherman in action, his wiry form seemingly in constant dialogue with the environment. His fishing rod extends gracefully, evoking a sense of serenity as he casts his line into the waters of life. The metal wire in the sculpture mirrors the interconnectedness of all things, weaving a narrative of coexistence.
As the fisherman engages in his timeless pursuit, he becomes a metaphor for humanity's age-old quest to understand and appreciate the profound intricacies of the natural world. The installation invites viewers to peer through a unique lens, offering a particular angle from which to observe the world. It beckons us to contemplate the interplay between the rugged metal medium and the fluidity of life, much like the dance between man and nature on Kivinokka Island.
